Coronavirus – Music Lessons At Pulse – Week Beginning 16/3/20
Music lessons (and Education Place lessons) will continue as normal at Pulse for the coming week. In response to the current public health situation, we will be implementing the following measures until further notice.
-
Parents, grand parents & carers will not be permitted to enter our building
-
Children will enter the building through the normal reception area, wash their hands and go to their lessons
-
At the end of lessons, parents will collect from the outside area of Pulse – where the ‘Welcome To Pulse’ sign is located
-
Teachers will not allow children to leave the premises until they visibly identify their parent / grand parent or carer
To Be Clear: We will not allow children to leave in any other manner than stated above – for example, a child telling us that their parent ‘is in the car outside and told me to leave’ will be insufficient. Our number one priority is to safeguard all children that we teach. Please prepare your son / daughter for this change in process.
What Else Are We Doing In Response To The Current Situation?
The current government advice on social distancing is based on large gatherings. At any given moment at Pulse there are approximately 60 people on our premises, made up of children, teachers, parents & siblings. The above measures will reduce this figure to approximately 26 across 14 teaching spaces and our reception areas. Along with the above measures we will also:
-
Increase our cleaner’s hours to implement daily cleaning of our premises
-
Instruct our teachers to clean all instruments before every lesson
-
Instruct our teachers to self isolate and not teach at Pulse if they show any symptoms, in line with government guidance
What Will Happen If Pulse Has To Close?
We are currently planning for all eventualities and will be meeting with our teachers to plan for delivery of missed lessons and providing exciting class activities in order to fulfil our commitments to children and parents. We will provide further information when necessary, and in line with government guidance. For the moment, as stated above, we will be continuing as normal.
My Child Has An Exam Grade Soon – Will It Go Ahead?
We have around 50 children taking exams in March and Pulse will be hosting an ABRSM exam day on March 25th. At this moment, the examination boards have not cancelled any sessions. We will update parents and students if this situation changes.
Communication
There will be no feedback to parents following lessons this week. We will update parents immediately following any new advice from government and kindly ask that parents await updates from ourselves regarding this situation. If parents need to contact us for any other reason, please use the normal channels – our App or via email being the preferred methods.
We thank you for your cooperation with the above and look forward to seeing the children this week.
