FAQs – Taster Sales
Term / Holidays
We’re a term time operation and our teaching period is aligned to the school year for Liverpool schools which is 39 weeks and runs from September to July. We don’t deliver lessons during school holidays.
Lessons
Lessons last for thirty minutes and are delivered one to one. Our teachers are all music graduates and specialists on their instruments.
Cancellation / Catch Up Days
Lessons can be cancelled and rescheduled with one week’s notice. Unfortunately our teachers are booked one week in advance so we cannot reschedule without a full weeks notice. If you give notice, your lesson will be banked and you will be offered an alternative slot, at your convenience, to catch the lesson up.
Teacher / Teacher Cover / Continuity
-
While we strive for continuity for students & parents, our teachers sometimes have an outside commitments or may be ill.
If Your Teacher Is Unavailable:
-
We will arrange for one of our other teachers to cover the lesson – our teachers make regular notes following lessons to ensure a smooth lesson
-
If we cannot cover your lesson, it will be banked and you will be invited to re-book at an alternative time
Safeguarding
We take safeguarding very seriously and all teachers are DBS checked and cleared. We also operate a ‘Safer Recruitment Policy” to ensure we thoroughly vet all staff that work at The Music Place. Our premises and teaching spaces have been designed with safeguarding at the forefront – bright open spaces and glazed doors etc. We have an open house policy and parents can sit in on part / all or none of their child’s lessons.
Cost Of Lessons / Cancellation Period
- There is no long term commitment and lessons can be cancelled at any point with 4 weeks notice.
- Lesson fees are £16:00 per lesson and there is a charge of £13:50 per month to cover management fees, safeguarding – lessons are delivered by qualified, DBS cleared tutors. The full cost of lessons is £65:50.
- Lessons are delivered over an 11 month period (the school year) but payment for lessons is spread over 12 months. This arrangement takes into account the fluctuations in lessons per month as in most months there are 4 lessons per month, with other months having 5 & 3 lessons etc. The overall cost is spread over the whole period by a regular Direct Debit arrangement.
- If at any point, a student decides to discontinue lessons, a four lesson notice is served and the account is balanced, with refunds being issued where appropriate.
